Mystic Waters Lace Shawl

Have you ever found yourself staring into a deep ocean pondering the mysteries beneath the surface?
Or swam in a dark lake at sunset?
Do you feel the lightness of the summer rain?
Water has many forms and faces, and yet they are all the same - simple H2O.

The Mystic Waters Shawl is inspired by water in its many forms. The main motif suggests a waterfall and the frothy bubbles where the waterfall hits the lake. Above the waterfall we have a few rows of snowflakes - the unique winter form of water.
Surrounding the waterfall are patterns of pouring rain, and the edging is reminiscent of frost flowers on the windows at wintertime.

The pattern allows for two sizes of the shawl. The original size uses 1200 m of Fårö yarn from Klippan (600 m per 100 g), and has a height of 128 cm (50") , and a width of 250 cm (98").
The small size of the shawl has a height of 97 cm ("), and a width of 180 cm and uses approx. 750 m of yarn.

This pattern is available in .pdf format for $8.00 CDN.

Mystic Waters is spread over three files. The Instructions contain the beginning and finishing instructions. All the charts are in MysticWatersShawl.pdf If you should decide to make the smaller version of the shawl, there is a special chart for that in MysticWatersSmallSize. Instructions for that are also included in the instructions-file.

Anna, I received your 3 files today and spent the last 25 minutes waiting for the instruction file to download. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can download these pdf files. I am connected to our high speed cable system.

Anna, just wanted to let you know I have the patterns, don't know what happened but just tried them again and they opened right up. I have been trying ever since you sent them to me. Thank you. I think this is a beautiful shawl and sorry I missed the KAL.

Anna, I loved this knit-along. Thanks so much for the pattern -- each week was different. Your designs are beautiful! I finished this morning and have yet to take pics, but will post them when I have them!

Dear Anna.

Thanks for the beautiful pattern and the fun we had with this KAL. I opted for the small version because I'm using DK weight cashmere. At this moment I'm still working on the finishing row and I can't wait finally measure it, and comes the wash and block.
Do you accept payment in US dollar?
Happy knitting,
Borie

I think there is a small fault on the pattern.

chart b, row 89,

stitch no 57 from right should be (k2tog) and not (k),

stitch no 58 (yo) as it says on the chart,

stitch no 59 should be (k) and not (ssk)

Y Boyle: Nope, that's intentional. You are of course welcome to change those stitches if you wish on your shawl (and the subsequent similar occurrences), but as written all the drops are slanted the same way on the shawl.
